The selection of GUVEN® Big Bag Spreaders should be based on the type of available equipment and operational condition, number of hooks chosen depending on cranes’ lifting capacity. These spreaders are available in both manual, hydraulic and electro hydraulic versions to suit various requirements.
Mechanical versions are predominantly used on ship cranes, while hydraulic versions are primarily employed on material handler cranes and excavators with a rotating function. Electro-hydraulic versions are mainly utilized on mobile harbour cranes, where they are powered by an electric supply via a cable and controlled through cranes’ joystick.

Exactly depends on available crane on side;
For ship cranes, both manual and electro-hydraulic versions are available. The electro-hydraulic version requires a cable drum system or manual cable control by an operator.
For material handler or excavator cranes, hydraulic versions are suitable. These can be powered by the crane’s hydraulic system and feature a 360-degrees rotating function. Big bags can be connected by an operator and discharged automatically.
For mobile harbour cranes, the electro-hydraulic version can be selected and activated from the crane’s operator cabin, provided the crane is equipped with a spreader mode. Big bags can be connected by an operator and discharged automatically.
