FAQ
Understanding the weight, type and size of material you’re handling, along with the capabilities of your crane or hoisting equipment, will help you determine the best grab size.
Ship cranes, mobile harbour cranes, material handler cranes, excavator machines and 2 roped and 4 roped cranes.
A mechanical grab operates using a wire system powered by the crane, while a hydraulic grab is operated by hydraulic force, which is supplied through hydraulic hoses connected to a hydraulic power unit or excavator. Remote control versions are usable on ship cranes, while electro-hydraulic ones are suitable for use on mobile harbour cranes.
The choice is entirely dependent on the crane or machine with which the grab will be paired.
A Timber & Log Grab is a piece of equipment used to handle, lift, and move timber, logs, or other bulky materials. They are commonly attached to cranes, excavators, or other heavy machinery to aid in the transportation and manipulation of logs in logging ports, terminals, sawmills, or construction sites.
